The second port was working all right until a couple weeks ago. I plugged in a different charger (after my cat ate through the original wire), and I’m assuming the cable or the brick plugged into the wall wasn’t the right voltage or something, and it damaged the port. One of the two USB-C ports has been dead for a few months. I’m at about 6% charge now, but it varies between 4% and 8%. I also tried just holding the power button for 10 seconds. No noticeable change to suggest the SMC had been reset. The computer doesn’t turn on when I just hold Option, Control, and Shift, but it does turn on when I add in holding the power button. I tried the method of holding Option, Control, and Shift for seven seconds, then adding in the power button for an additional seven seconds. I’m trying to reset the SMC on my 2018 13” MacBook Pro, but I don’t think it’s working.
